About

The Back Story

While our founder started Accreditation Preparation in 2012, the story started years before that.  She had always had an interest in universities and when she lived in Dallas had served as the scholarship chairman for the North Texas section of the Georgia Tech club.   She had also gotten involved with the local AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineering) when looking for a new job and then serving as program chair and section chair.  When the AIChE national meeting came to Dallas, she served as chair of the host committee.  And of course, good volunteers get asked to volunteer more so she served on AIChE's CTOC (Chemical Engineering Technology Operating Council.)

She had always had an interest in universities.  For example, when she lived in Dallas had served as the scholarship chairman for the North Texas section of the Georgia Tech club.  So as her term on CTOC was coming to an end, she took the ABET accreditation training and went on her first visit in 2004.  She continues to serve as an ABET Program Evaluator (PEV) for ABET and now also represents AIChE on ABET's Board of Delegates.

She got the idea to start Accreditation Preparation on an ABET visit when a fellow PEV said something like "you are a industrial engineering and quality consultant, you could be an ABET consultant.  One of the other PEV's, Ed Jones is an ABET consultant."  So she talked to Ed and ultimately he referred her first client to her.
